How it works & what we keepSHOW
- 01Link your Tesla account to codriverSame tesla.com login as the Tesla app. Do it from a phone or laptop — the car screen takes no typed input.
- 02Set a destination on the carIn Tesla's own nav, the way you already do. Nothing changes in the car.
- 03Open or reload codriver in the Tesla browserOn start, codriver asks the car once where you're headed and routes there. Your Garage picks up the car you actually own, too.
- Read-only
- Two permissions: vehicle data and vehicle location. No commands — codriver can't unlock, honk, charge or move anything, and it never wakes a sleeping car.
- What we keep
- An encrypted Tesla token (AES-256-GCM, so we can ask again next time without a fresh login), your car's VIN and factory config for the Garage, and the time of the last sync.
- What we don't
- Your destination is read when the app starts and not stored. No location history, no trips, no charging data.
- Optional
- Recommended, not required. Google or email sign-in works the same; you just type the address yourself. Disconnect any time from /account, and revoke on tesla.com → Account → Third-Party Apps.
