Is codriver a replacement for A Better Route Planner?
No — and you'll probably want both. ABRP is a trip planner: it models your battery, weather and driving to tell you where and how long to charge on a long journey. codriver is a live in-drive layer: community alerts, speed cameras and every-network charger filters running in the Tesla browser as you go. Plan the trip in ABRP, then let codriver ride along during it.
Does codriver do EV charging route optimization like ABRP?
No, and we won't pretend to. codriver doesn't model state-of-charge or plan multi-stop charging routes — ABRP is excellent at that and we'd point you to it for a road trip. What codriver does is charger discovery in the moment: every network on one map, filtered by connector compatibility, cost and power, on the Tesla screen without leaving the drive view.
Can I run ABRP in the Tesla browser instead?
You can — ABRP has a web app that loads in the in-car browser and can read live battery and location if you link your Tesla token. Many owners find it sluggish on the MCU and prefer to plan on a phone or laptop, then drive. codriver is built the other way around: designed from the start to live on the Tesla screen during the drive, not to be planned on and then set aside.
