Tesla owners ask

Can I use Google Maps on my Tesla's screen?

Not as an app. Tesla doesn't support CarPlay or Android Auto, so there's no native Google Maps app on the MCU. You can open the mobile Google Maps website in the car's browser, but it isn't integrated with the car — no proper voice guidance, no lane graphics, and it fights the built-in nav for the screen. codriver is built specifically for that in-car browser instead of squeezing a phone app into it.

Doesn't Tesla already use Google Maps?

Largely, yes — and that's the point. Tesla's built-in navigation uses Google Maps data for its tiles, points of interest and search across most of the world (Baidu in China), with routing calculated on Tesla's own servers. So you're already looking at Google's map. codriver doesn't try to replace that base map; it adds the live community and EV layer on top of it — the stuff neither Google's app nor Tesla's nav puts on the screen.

Is codriver a replacement for Google Maps?

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Google Maps has better routing, a deeper POI database, Street View and lane-level guidance — if you want those on a Tesla, people run them on a phone. codriver is a different job: a calm, community-powered second layer that runs in the Tesla browser with no phone in the way. Many drivers keep Tesla's Google-powered nav for routing and let codriver handle alerts, cameras and chargers.

Is codriver affiliated with Google or Google Maps?

What about Supercharger and charger info?
