From code to rewards in three steps

Ask for your code
Email us the name you’d like (3 to 24 letters, digits or hyphens), the offer and, if you want one, an end date. We can link the code to your account, so its signups count as your referrals.
Share your link or QR code
Post codriver.io/r/YOURCODE or show its QR code in a video. The link’s preview card shows your code, its offer and the QR code, so viewers can scan it with their phone.
Follow your referrals
Each referral appears in your account right away, with the email address partly hidden. You earn Premium months: 1 for every 5 who pair their Tesla, and more when they buy Premium.

Links, QR codes and preview cards

Link to share: https://codriver.io/r/YOURCODE. It opens codriver in the visitor’s browser language and keeps the code for 30 days in that browser and, if they create their account from a sign-in email requested there, for 24 hours on whichever device opens it.
Language: Add ?lang=fr for French or ?lang=en for English: https://codriver.io/r/YOURCODE?lang=fr opens the French site and shows a French preview.
QR code: We send you the QR code as a PNG (1024 px) and an SVG, in English and in French. It opens the same link, so people use their phone rather than typing on the car’s screen, which is impractical and can be dangerous while driving.
Preview card: Sharing the link on X, Facebook, WhatsApp, iMessage, LinkedIn or Discord shows a card with the codriver logo, your code, its offer and the QR code. The image itself, 1200 × 630 PNG for thumbnails and videos: https://codriver.io/r/YOURCODE/og (English) and https://codriver.io/r/YOURCODE/og?lang=fr (French).
Entering the code: Members can also type the code under “Have a code?” in the pricing section (codriver.io/#pricing) or in their account. Codes aren’t case-sensitive.
Refreshing a preview: Platforms keep their own copy of a link’s preview. After a change, paste the link into Facebook’s Sharing Debugger and choose “Scrape again”.
Your personal link: Your referral link works the same way: codriver.io/r/your-link, with ?lang=fr and its own preview card, which carries its QR code.

Links and codes

Your referral linkEvery member has a personal link in their account, under Plan & referrals: codriver.io/r/your-link. Anyone who creates an account through it becomes your referral.
Promo codesA promo code is a name we create for you, like CODE-XXX. It can give a free Premium trial with no card, a discount (on the first payment, for a number of months or on every renewal, on the yearly or monthly plan) and immediate driving access instead of the waitlist.
Codes linked to youA code can be linked to your account. Everyone who signs up with it, or enters it in their account, becomes your referral if they don’t have one yet, so you earn the rewards below. People who sign up through your personal link also get the discount and free trial of your newest active code.

Who can use a code

By default, new members and existing members who have never paid for Premium; a code can also be opened to past subscribers. A codriver free trial doesn’t count as a payment, but starting a paid plan at Checkout does, even if it’s cancelled before the first charge.
One code per account at a time: a newer code replaces the previous one until the member pays.
The free trial is once per account, and only for members who don’t have Premium.
A code can have an end date and a maximum number of accounts (a maximum of 1 makes it a one-time code).
Members who already pay for Premium, and the code’s owner, can’t use it.

What you earn

1 free month when one of them buys Premium · monthly, 2 months for Premium · yearly, once the payment goes through (not during a free trial).
Your months follow your plan: on a paid plan they cover your next renewals, on gifted Premium or a free trial they’re added after it automatically, and on the Free plan you start them from your account when you like.

Clubs and your audience

I’m a local Tesla Club administrator. How can I make sure the promo code can only be used by my members?

We can create a one-time code for each member of your club. You don’t need to share names or email addresses: send us member IDs (any numbers you choose), and we create one code per ID, each usable by a single account. The codes can be linked to the club’s account, so every signup counts as a club referral.

What do my followers get?

What your code offers, for example 7 days of Premium free with no card, then 5% off the first payment. The pricing section and their account show the offer, and Stripe Checkout shows the price before they pay.

Can people who already have a codriver account use my code?

Yes, as long as they have never paid for Premium (the default; a code can also be opened to past subscribers). A codriver free trial doesn’t count as a payment, but starting a paid plan at Checkout does, even if it’s cancelled before the first charge. They can open your link while signed in, or enter the code in their account.

Can someone use the code from their Tesla?

We ask people not to type it on the car’s screen: typing there is impractical, and it can be dangerous while driving. They scan your QR code with their phone or open the link on it, and the code goes on the account they sign in with.

Rewards and tracking

Can I see my referrals in real time?

Yes. In your account, under Plan & referrals, you see everyone attributed to your link or code as soon as they sign up, with their email address partially hidden for privacy (for example jo••••@example.com). You see who paired their Tesla and who upgraded to Premium · monthly or Premium · yearly.

Do I earn money?

Rewards are free months of Premium, listed above. There are no cash commissions. For a larger partnership, email us.

Can I have more than one code?

Yes, for example one per platform or campaign. Each code is counted separately (clicks, sign-ups, trials and paid upgrades), and we can send you its numbers. Your personal link gives the discount and trial of your newest active code.

Codes and offers

How long does a code last?

Until its end date or its maximum number of accounts, if it has them. We can also switch a code off. A free trial already started runs to its end and a discount already on a subscription stays, but a code that is off or past its end date no longer applies at Checkout.

Does a code combine with other offers?

One discount applies per subscription. When a member also has another offer, the one with the larger reduction of the first payment is used.

How do I get a code?

Disclosure

Do I need to say it’s a partnership?

If you received free Premium, earn referral rewards or get another benefit, say so in your video or post. Platform rules and advertising regulators (the FTC in the United States, the ASA in the United Kingdom, the Competition Bureau in Canada, the DGCCRF in France) expect it.
