How to show and filter third-party charging networks
Tesla's built-in map shows Tesla's own chargers and stops there. With codriver in the car's browser you can put every network on one map — then trim it down to the stations your car can actually use. Here's the whole flow, start to finish. It takes about a minute.

Step by step
Open the charger layer
In codriver on your Tesla's browser, open the map and switch on the charger layer. Out of the box it shows Tesla Superchargers and Destination chargers — the starting point most Tesla maps stop at.
Add networks beyond Tesla
Open the network filter and turn on third-party networks. On the free tier you can add one extra network alongside Tesla — pick the one you use most (say Electrify America, IONITY, or Chargefox). Premium lets you show every network at once, in parallel.
Set connector compatibility
codriver defaults to the connectors your Tesla can use natively for your region — NACS in North America, CCS2 in Europe and Australia/New Zealand. Leave adapter-only plugs (CCS1, CHAdeMO) off unless you carry the adapter, then toggle them on to include those stations.
Filter by cost
Use the free-vs-paid filter to match the moment: show free destination chargers when you're topping up cheaply, or paid fast-charging when you just need to get moving.
Filter by power
Narrow by charging speed — AC destination, DC fast, or 150 kW+ ultra-fast — so the map reflects how long you're actually planning to stop.
Read the map and go
The layer now shows only stations your car can use, on the networks you chose, at the cost and speed you want — right on the 17-inch screen, no phone in the way. Your filter choices persist for next time.
━━ CONNECTORS BY MARKET
What "compatible" means where you drive.
Step 3 is easier once you know your region's plug. codriver picks the right default for you — this is just what's happening under the hood:
- North America — your Tesla is NACS-native; CCS1 stations (Electrify America, EVgo, Flo) need an adapter, so they're opt-in. CHAdeMO is legacy.
- Europe —your Tesla is CCS2-native; that covers IONITY, Fastned, Shell Recharge and most public DC. Type 2 handles AC.
- Australia / New Zealand — CCS2-native as well, so Chargefox, Evie, Ampol AmpCharge and ChargeNet come through by default. Type 2 for AC.

Common questions
Can I see non-Tesla chargers on my Tesla's screen?
Yes. codriver runs in the Tesla browser and adds a charger layer powered by Open Charge Map, so you see third-party networks — Electrify America, ChargePoint, IONITY, Fastned, Chargefox, Evie and many more — right alongside Superchargers. Tesla's own map only shows Tesla's network; codriver shows the rest.
Do I need Premium to filter charging networks?
No. All four filters — connector compatibility, network, cost, and power — work on the free tier. What Premium changes is how many networks you can display at once: free shows Tesla plus one extra network, Premium shows every network in parallel.
Why don't I see a charger I know exists?
Three common reasons: (1) a filter is hiding it — check whether its connector, network, cost or power band is toggled off; (2) on the free tier you may have hit the one-extra-network cap, so a station on a third network won't appear until you enable it or upgrade; or (3) it isn't in Open Charge Map yet. OCM is community-maintained, so coverage is strong but not perfect — and it improves as drivers add stations.
Does this work outside North America?
Yes. codriver is built around three markets — North America, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand — with global charger data via Open Charge Map. Connector defaults follow your region automatically, so the map starts useful whether your Tesla uses NACS or CCS2.
